Spirulina Avocado Cucumber Bites

Spirulina has been around for hundreds of years and is an excellent source of a complete protein AND helps to boost the immune system and detoxify the body. Here is a simple and tasty recipe that includes this superfood!

These bites are wonderful to serve at a party or to make and serve as an appetizer before a meal.

  • 1 large organic cucumber
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 1/2 ripe organic roma tomato, diced
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hawaiian Spirulina
  • Organic grape tomatoes for garnish


Cut cucumber into thick 1-inch slices (you should be able to get 6 to 8 chunks from a large cucumber). Scoop flesh out from center of cucumber. Cut avocado in half and scoop out flesh. Mash with a fork and mix with all remaining ingredients except for the grape tomatoes. Scoop into each cucumber bite and garnish with half a grape tomato. Serve immediately.
